I help managers and team leaders develop the leadership skills they need to lead with confidence — based on 25+ years of experience in international technology organisations across Europe and Asia, combined with a background in business and leadership (MBA).
When I stepped into my first management role, I thought I was ready. I had an MBA, years of experience, and a solid understanding of the business.
But very quickly I learned something that changed my perspective.
None of that prepares you for leading people.
In one of my first feedback conversations, I made a mistake. I overloaded the conversation, handled it poorly, and it escalated to the point where the employee walked out.
That moment stayed with me — not because of what the employee did, but because of what it revealed about me.
Knowing management is not the same as being able to apply it in real situations.
What changed things for me was not more experience — it was learning how management actually works.
After following a structured management training, things started to fall into place. I began to understand why certain situations were difficult and how to handle them more effectively.
That insight shaped my entire approach.
With the right knowledge, structures, and techniques, management becomes clearer, more predictable, and significantly more effective.
Most managers are not trained for the role.
They are promoted because they performed well as individual contributors. But being good at your job does not automatically translate into being effective as a manager.
This creates a gap that leads to frustration, inefficiency, and underperformance — both for the manager and the team.
The difference is not effort. It's skill.
